Ice Rim on Thatcher Pond

Sometimes, when the conditions are just right, an unusual ice formation appears at the margins of Thatcher Pond. One night this week, the rain swelled the pond  then the weather turned cold enough to freeze. As the water level dropped, the ice stayed frozen at it's higher water level. Plates of ice are suspended  above the water in a magical, mysterious way.

In February 20th at 1PM I'll be speaking at the  19th Century Club about the process of creating my Tools of the Trade Show: A Residents View of Law Enforcement.

You know, I've walked those trails for years and never saw it before.
