At last, we had a narrow window of warm weather in which to launch the '09 canoe season. You can see Old Leaky and her pal Mighty all loaded up and ready to move out. Mighty is our friends very elegant and yar Lady Canoe. Unfortunately, Mighty gets a bit battered in the rough and tumble world of the Muddy Des Plains.
Weather forecast is for snow tomorrow so I'm glad we seized the moment. I certainly hope that at least ice season is over!

You know, Katherine, this is a very good idea. The woods were ringing with bird song and the waves gently lap against the bow of the boat. You give me a good excuse to get one of those tiny video cameras!
Oooh lovely. It looks so peaceful - and of course canoeing is. Nice to be back on the water I'm sure.
It was wonderful Jeanette! We are planning a trip later in the week too. I'm sure everyone will be bored silly with canoing pix by August.
