Fast Sketching Techniques

I am currently working in a book by the above title by David Rankin. Working at the zoo, I realized I needed a new technique to capture moving animals. I was feeling a little frustrated so I pulled this book off the shelf (I've had it for 3 years!) and he has some really good ideas on how to capture things quickly. This drawing was done with a solid stick of 9B graphite and smeared with a blending stump.
