Watercolor lessons

This summer I took a watercolor class. Learning at such a relaxed pace was really a wonderful gift. I've been playing around with some skills I learned (wanting to hang on to what I learned) and try to experiment a bit.
This was done on 300lb watercolor paper with tube watercolors. I have lots of 140 lb paper around also, but 300lb paper is so lovely to work with. The paint really behaves predictably and I can lift out mistakes, scrub hard, layer, and basically abuse this forgiving paper.

I also discovered recently the pleasure to work with good watercolor paper. I have seen that when I am using this paper, I change the way I draw.
